Fredericton Christian Academy (FCA) is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its brand new gymnasium, offering cutting-edge facilities to enhance the health and fitness of both the school community and the City of Fredericton. This exciting addition reflects our commitment to our school community of providing accessible opportunities for physical activity, school and community sports recreational space, and overall physical well-being.
Located at 241 Canada St. (Unity Community Centre - formerly known as Alexander Gibson Memorial School), the newly renovated gymnasium boasts a new lighting system, 6 new adjustable glass basketball systems, new scoreboard and shot clocks, main and cross court volleyball courts, 3 badminton/pickleball courts, refreshed locker and storage rooms, and will have a climate control system installed later this spring. The updated space has been designed to accommodate various sport and fitness goals and preferences.
The opening of the gymnasium marks a significant milestone for the Unity Community Centre (UCC) under new ownership and underscores their dedication to promoting health and fitness within the local community, and their goal of revitalizing the former school as an integral and updated community hub. “We are excited to introduce this modern gymnasium update to our community centre,” said Sally Ng, Owner and Director of the Unity Community Centre. “Our goal is to create an inclusive environment where individuals of all ages and fitness levels will be able to pursue their wellness journey in a supportive and welcoming setting, and we are excited to partner with FCA in bringing exceptional value to our community through this partnership for generations to come.”
